The event hasn't started yet!
Registrations will be open for 3 days before the event will start (it should start on the evening of Friday, the 28th of August for those of you in the US). After the allotted time, the first week's event will be opened and all registered teams may participate. Remember, it's not a race. You can choose to either collect as many points as you can, or simply play along for the fun of being in a big event with everyone. Towards the end of each week (note, the weeks go from Friday evening to Friday evening, thus everyone has a chance to play immediately after each event is started), I will be posting one or more special missions for bonus points or items.
Remember, you can still register and join after the event starts, thus why there's such a short registration period. This is just to set everyone on even ground to begin with. Prizes will also be announced on the Friday of each week... if there are any for that week. Sometimes prizes will be awarded for several weeks of work, so don't worry if there are none in one particular week.
For now, use this topic to discuss stuff or ask questions about the event!

Hmm... I wanted to get re-accustomed to the services in town, but apparently your partner forces you to complete the Magnemite mission first and foremost...

Well, if it helps I can give you a basic rundown of them.
They are: Kecleon Wares - The shops tend to buy and sell misc items, but if I recall one of the two guys sells a lot of orbs and TMs and the other one sells edible and throwable stuff. Kangaskhan Storage - You can store and retrieve a LOT of items here, and you can use the R button to select multiple items to store/retrieve. Makuhita Dojo (South) - "Train" here against mini dungeons and bosses. Actually pretty easy to beat, but you get prizes like gummis for winning so worth doing once. Felicity Bank - It's a bank. If you're like me and afraid of losing money, save it all in here between missions. Friend Shop - Wigglytuff's friend area shop. It won't be open until later in the game though Post Office (East) - Place where you can go to input friend rescue codes and find a few extra missions (bulletin board). Sometimes events happen here so it's worth visitng every once in a while
Oh and the (North) area where Whiscash is later on becomes the evolution cave, but that's after the storyline is complete. Again though, occasionally there are events there.

Oh, one thing I forgot is the Gulpin Link Shop. You can link moves together like a combo...

Everyone should read the rules and the rescue info again, as quite a bit has changed.
