http://prp-reborn.com/Forums/index.php?imode/topic,1491.0.html - Low Bandwidth Version Rules
Sirus: Ok people, Sirus is here to organize the FAQ into something readable! Here we go!In order to confirm that everyone is reading the FAQ I am going to hide some words inside the FAQ to confirm its being fully read. Once you've found ALL the hidden words send us a pager of them in the game through the "Request a GM's assistance" verb in your Commands tab, by doing this you've freed yourself from potentially being banned.Additional and updated rules can be found here! This F.A.Q. is updated quite a lot, so remember to check back often if you have unanswered questions. If you cannot find an answer to your questions in this F.A.Q., then feel free to ask them in-game.
HOWEVER (and note that this is a big however!), if you ask a question that actually IS covered in the FAQ simply because you didn't bother to read it we're going to get annoyed with you.
SO READ THE WHOLE FAQ. The GMs will be glad to help you if you've first tried to help yourself. If you have a question that you believe should be added to the list of questions, send Nova (Ac19189) a PM or a BYOND pager message about it.
Tip: Use ctrl + f to search for keywords related to your question. For example: "house" will let you find information on buying and selling houses.

Bugs and Glitches F.A.Q**F.A.Q.**I. Logging in and Starting your GameQuestion: The front page says that saved games are not kept. Is this true?Nova responds: All current saves will be kept until the next update. We are unable to make the current saves work with the new version, meaning a wipe will be needed for the update, but until that point all saves will be kept.
(Note: We have had a bug before that required us to delete all the saves, but we backup saves regularly and this is not likely to happen again.)
Question: After just logging in I noticed everything was black and nothing is happening. What is going on?Nova and Sirus respond: This is most likely one of the following:
A) The game is still downloading.
Nova: The game can take a while to download, even with a fast connection. (This is due to server lag, rather than your own lag.) The game is hosted in BYOND version 3.5, which means you have to download the entire resource package before you can start playing.
Sirus: Be patient. There should be a bar at the bottom right hand side of your screen showing you the download progress. If not, still wait a minute just in case it's downloading but not showing you that it is. If the game still hasn't popped up, it may be one of the other issues.
B) Your client failed to correctly download the game's resource files.
Nova: To fix this, close out BYOND and delete your cache file. Both XP and Vista instructions are below.
(Both XP and Vista need BYOND totally shut down.)
Replace TheComputersName with the name of your account or computer name. This can be found at the top of your start menu as the name of the account you’re logged into.
XP: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\TheComputersName\Application Data\BYOND
Then delete the folder entitled "cache".
Vista: C:\Users\TheComputersName\AppData\Roaming\BYOND
Then delete the folder entitled "cache".
C) The server is experiencing a lag spike
Sirus: Again, the way to deal with a lag spike is to be patient. We've never had a lag spike last for more than a full minute, so go get a snack or something while you wait. The issue should fix itself shortly, if this is the problem.
Nova adds: In any case other than this one, it will never be our end that is the issue. With the exception of lag spikes, it is always a client related issue that would leave a user with a black screen after logging in.
Question: Every time this one person logs into the game my screen goes black. How can I fix this?Nova responds: If you know who is giving you a black screen report the key and name to Sirus or me and explain that when they login you get a black screen.
(Note: Only Sirus and Nova can fix this bug.)
Sirus adds: Nova has a better chance of fixing it than I do, because he can mess with some stuff that only the host can edit.

http://www.prp-reborn.com/faqone.txtQuestion: The game told me I have no more recreates. How can I get more?Nova responds: The recreates tend to get reset every week (usually around Monday). However, if we find that a lot of players are abusing the resetting of recreates then we will often skip a week or two to even things out. If you desperately need to recreate (for example you get bugged and can't level up or fight), then you can use the GM pager to request that either Sirus or I give you another recreate. If we do, you are not allowed to select "Random Rare" if you recreate as a Pokemon.
The GMs respond: Recreates are no longer being reset due to people having abused them to get a shiny/legendary Pokemon, or Trainer with pokespeak.
Question: I have several keys, and I'd like to use more than one. The rules seem a little confusing on exactly what I'm allowed to do. Can someone explain?Sirus responds: Yes, the limit is that you may have 3 keys maximum. At any one time, you may have TWO of those keys logged in at once. You are allowed to catch yourself and buy yourself TMs and HMs, but you are NOT allowed to gather berries to sell on multiple keys at once. This is cheating, and you will get banned. Also, we tend to extend the 3 keys per person limit when that person has 3 level 100 Pokemon and wants to train up more, or make a trainer key. You must ask us before doing that though, or you will get banned.
Nova adds: Speaking of getting banned, making a whole bunch of keys and recreating over and over just to get legendary or shiny or a trainer who can understand Pokemon speech is
not allowed. We will catch you, and you will have all of your keys permanently banned, so don't do it.
II. General F.A.Q.Question: There's a player here that's breaking the rules. What should I do?Sirus responds: Warn them that they are breaking the rules. Sometimes, new players do stupid things because they are used to playing noob games where everyone does stupid things (such as random PKing). If they stop, great. If not, use the GM pager to report them (See the post below for how to use the GM pager properly). If you are being PKed and there are no GMs available, you may defend yourself, or if someone is spamming non damage moves like sleep powder or leer you may also defend yourself.
Question: Ok so I need to get in contact with a GM. How would I do this?Sirus responds: Before you go any further, if your need to contact a GM is with regards to one of the following:
- Getting special items/treatment
- Getting legendary or pokespeak
- Getting GM
- Offering to host
- Offering to help with the game production
- Asking how to play
- No reason, just feeling like messing with the GM pager
- Bug reporting
THEN DON'T BOTHER. All of those are dealt with in this very F.A.Q. so do yourself a favor and read it. We'll probably just ban or mute you if you abuse the GM pager or ask annoying questions over OOC, so you have been warned.
Anyway, the GM pager is usually the best way to ensure that a GM sees your request. To access the GM pager, go to your commands tab and scroll down to the verb that says "Request a GM's assistance". Fill out an appropriate title, and use the body of the message to tell the GMs what you need to say. Don't expect an instant reply - the GMs are not online 24/7 and even when a GM is online, they may be busy with other things.
Nova adds: The more detailed and accurate you can be on the GM pager, the better. Here are a few tips that will help you get replied to quickly and efficiently:
1 - Don't put your entire message in the titleNova: This is pretty straightforward. A lot of noobs put the entire message for the GMs as the title, and then say nothing for the main body of the message. This makes it hard for us to read and we want to help you less for being annoying.
2 - Don't expect that putting your message on high priority will get it read quickly, nor that putting it on low priority will mean we won't read it.Nova: The priority usually doesn't even matter. 99% of the time, we read the pager messages in the order they come in, and the priority thing is optional for us. We rarely ever sort messages by priority, so don't expect it to do much.
3 - Be very clear about what you are trying to tell us, and give us all the necessary details.Nova: A lot of players will say something like "RedFox (-JimtheTrainer-) is PKing outside of WW. Help!". This doesn't help
us much, because WE don't know who the heck RedFox is. Remember, that's a GIVEN name, and someone could very easily change it before we get around to dealing with it. The best idea is to click "Who", and search for that person's key, not just the name. If you give us the key as well, it will make our lives so much easier. Also, try and copy and paste some logs of them breaking the rules if you can. It's hard for us to punish someone if we have no proof that they did anything wrong.
4 - Grammar and spelling pleaseSirus: I know it's the internet, but try and make it easier for us to read your GM pager message by not typing in chat-speak if at all possible. You can talk as noobish as you want over say and OOC, but please at least spare us GMs from your horrible pronunciations of words. It will make us all very happy.
The GMs Respond: A large majority of players fail to notice this, but when your pager (The red dot that sits at the top right of your screen) is flashing green it means you've been given a reply to the pager you've sent.
Question: I think I saw the creator, but he was mean to me! Why is he mean?
Sirus responds: I'm not usually mean, so here's a few possibilities:
A) It wasn't me
I catch Pokemon every now and then, just like every other trainer. My Pokemon therefore will get my key in their names, such as "Leana <3 (-
Perpetr8r the Perpetu8r-)". This does NOT mean that they are me, this means that they are owned by me. You can tell if it's me by clicking the "Who" command and checking the person's key. My key is "Perpetr8r the Perpetu8r", if their key is not, then it's not me.
B) You were breaking a rule
Breaking rules is a surefire way to get me to dislike you. If you want me to be nice to you, don't go breaking rules.
C) You tried to contact me while I was very busy
Often, I'll be dealing with 3 or 4 different things at a time, including a few in game issues and some that require me to not pay attention to the game. If I don't respond, I may either have not heard you, or be too busy to reply to you. It happens, so don't take it personally.
D) You asked a noobish question
I get these a lot. Someone will decide "Hey, who needs to read the F.A.Q.? I can just ask SIRUS what I have to do! After spending hours and hours making an F.A.Q. for people, I expect you to damn well read it. If I get asked a question that has clearly been answered on the F.A.Q. I will be really angry. Mind you, if you're reading this, chances are you aren't the kind who would do that anyway. 10 points for you if you are.
E) I'm having a really bad day
We all have bad days, and sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with people. I'm sorry if I take my anger out on you and you don't deserve it, but to my credit this rarely happens, if ever.
Question: Can I host my own Pokemon RP Reborn world?Nova responds: At the current moment the answer is no. However it is possible that at a later date we might allow private servers. We have had talks about making a chat room client that may or may not be hosted by other people for when the game is down but this is not a sure fact as of yet. Again, as Sirus is doing all the coding, we'll have to take what we can get.
(Note: Please do not offer to host. I have been hosting PRPR from the start and I do not plan on dropping the job any time soon.)
Question: How do I go about becoming a GM?Nova responds: This question is asked almost every day. The answer is simple: You just play the game and do not ask for GM. We come to you if we think you will be good for the staff, and we do not need you coming to us. Asking to be a GM kills all chance of you ever becoming one.
(Note: As a few notes we look for people that are literate, willing to help, and follow the rules while still respecting the other players. But remember, asking for GM will totally kill your chances of ever getting it.)
Sirus adds: Asking for GM openly is one thing. HINTING at asking for GM is even worse. It's not a clever loophole to be like "Gee, I sure wish I had GM" or "I would make such a good GM on this game", it's the reason that people who ask for GM don't get it. Quite simply put, 10x more noobs who can't spell ask for GM than decent players, and so it's easy for us to figure out which one you are if you try a trick like that. Also, don't complain about the GMs in game either. If you have a problem with one of the GMs, you can PM Nova or myself about it on the forums.
Question: I noticed that GMs refer to more rules than are on the rules list. Is there a location for a more current list of rules?Nova responds: We have created a new page of rules that are current for the version being hosted at the time. In later updates the rules that are posted in game will always be up to date. The list of updated rules can be found at the following location:
http://prp-reborn.com/Forums/index.php/topic,1491.0.htmlQuestion: Why am I not allowed to curse (swear) on this game?Sirus responds: Remember that Pokemon is and was originally a children's game. Even if mature people play the game, we have had children as young as 8 and 10 playing as well, and kids that young do not need to be subject to adult conversations and swear words in our game. So, since we do not require age verification to play the game, and there is no MA 17+ rating on our hub page, it is our responsibility as the game's moderators to control the level of language and content that the players are exposed to. Nova and Sirus may allow some swearing late at night when only the older players are one, but never take swearing for granted, as there are harsh punishments for breaking the language rules.
Nova adds: If someone is warned more then three times about cursing they will be banned. If they are muted and mute avoid they will be banned also.
Question: Help! I'm lost! Is there a map of the game somewhere?Nova responds: Yes I did make a map for the few users that do need it. However please note that it is only a map of the starting area. It is not a full size map of the whole game. The map is located at the following link.
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4120/mpsqv5.png (Note: Please note this map does not have labels, training dummies or some of the signs that are in game. Please send me a PM if the link does not work.)
Question: Where am I allowed to PK (attack other players)? (Also known as "Where is Water World?")Nova reponds: The only area you are allowed to attack other players (aside from if you are being attacked and have to defend yourself) is Water World. Water World is located to the far left, and can be accessed by heading North of the Pokemon Sanctuary, and then left. You will come across an opening in the trees - go through this and you will find yourself in Water World (Or WW as it's known).
Sirus adds: There is a training dummy in WW, but there are a lot of cheap PKers who love to kill people who are training and can't defend themselves. If you intend to train there, make sure you have a few friends standing guard over you while you do so. Never assume anyone is there with peaceful intentions, because most players will kill you just for standing in their line of sight.
Question: How do I get a custom icon?Sirus responds: There are only two ways to get a custom icon. The first is by being a GM. (See
GM Requests), and the second is through taking part in the events that we hold occasionally. There is no set time for events, we will hold them whenever we have the time and energy to do so.
Question: Where can I get special items such as a master ball, nova cookie or a golden trophy? The GMs respond: Non-buyable items are given away as prizes in events held by the GMs. If you see someone with one, chances are they got it from an event.
Question: I keep hearing about events. What are they and how can I enter?Sirus responds: Events are held by the GMs, and are server-wide competitions or mini-games that players can participate in to win prizes. There is no set time of the day or week that we hold these events, as they happen only when the online GMs have enough time, energy, and players to make the event worth holding. If you want to be a part of an event, your best bet is to play often, so then you won't miss out when one is held.
Question: I keep hearing about the update. When will it be released?Sirus responds: There's only one person working on the update - me. I happen to have a causal job, as well as be studying at university full time. I barely have any free time at all, and when I do, I always prioritize PRPR. However, it's a huge undertaking and as such I can't honestly give you a set time when it will be released. The most I can do is update the progress meter whenever I add a new system. I'm really trying hard to get PRPR finished for everyone, but rl takes precedence, unfortunately.
Nova adds: Faster, Sirus, faster! *whips*
Question: I see a Surf option pop up when I stand next to water. How do I Surf?Sirus responds: The Surf command is a little misleading. Firstly, a trainer cannot use Surf without owning a Pokemon that knows Surf. And a Pokemon cannot use the Surf command at all - if they have been taught Surf, they can simply walk over the water like it wasn't there. (Side note: Flying and Water type Pokemon can do this already, but they cannot carry a trainer with them unless they are taught Surf.) If you're a trainer, make sure that the Pokemon you taught Surf to is next to you and you are facing the water. Then click Surf. After a second, you will be placed inside the Pokemon's inventory, and they can Surf you to wherever you need to go. Note also that the Pokemon will have full control here, so don't expect to be able to move until they drop you off. If you get annoyed at them, you can always just relog.
The GM's add: As a trainer you can teach ALL your pokemon surf, it doesn't matter what type they are, all Pokemon can learn it.
III. Trainer F.A.Q.Question: How can I get my first Pokemon? The GYM is blocked off.Sirus responds: Because of some issues with losing update files and whatnot, the starter Pokemon lab in the gym was never completed. Because of this, you will need to catch a player-controlled Pokemon, who can be found most often near the Pokemon Sanctuary (Note: You cannot catch Pokemon in the Sanctuary, thus the name). If you want to know how to catch a Pokemon, please see two questions below.
Question: I have been looking all over and have been unable to find a wild Pokemon. What am I doing wrong?Nova responds: Nothing. As mentioned in the above response, Pokemon in this game are controlled by other human players. If you wish to locate a Pokemon, first make sure that there is a wild Pokemon actually online at the time. You can do this by clicking the "Who" command in your commands panel, and looking for any pokemon named something like "Wild Pokemon -=Keyname=-" (Note: Pokemon will be the type of Pokemon they are, and Keyname will be that player's BYOND key. For example, "Wild HootHoot -=Dragonbreeder=-").
Sirus adds: If there are wild Pokemon online, you may ask over OOC if they would like you as a trainer. You may only ask ONCE or at most TWICE. If you repeatedly spam up OOC with "WHO WANTS TRAINER?" then you will most likely get muted and at the very least no Pokemon will want to be owned by someone so annoying. Also, don't ask every single Pokemon that logs in if they want a trainer either. If nobody wants to be owned by you, then you will either have to wait until someone logs on who does, or try and catch a Pokemon by force. Remember though, you are not allowed to catch or go near any Pokemon that are training at a training dummy. This includes going near Pokemon you have already caught - the training dummy is off-limits.
The GMs add: If you do find a Pokemon to catch, you simply double-click your target, open your inventory tab and use a PokeBall by right-clicking it. (Or you can simply go to your commands and click Use -> PokeBall")
Question: Why can't I go near the training dummy?Nova responds: There are several reasons for this. One reason is to limit the amount of lag caused by lots of people being sent the purple attack messages that Pokemon generate while they are training. Another, more important, reason is because it is unfair to force Pokemon to have to run from trainers on the hunt while they are trying to train and gain levels.
(Example: A good example would be to force trainers to run away from Pokemon while they are trying to pick or sell berries to earn money. It's disruptive and makes it harder to play the game.)
Sirus adds: Of course, the biggest reason is because we said so. There are very good reasons for every rule that we place, and regardless of whether you think it's fair or appropriate, you should obey the rules the GMs put down simply because we're the ones keeping the game running so you can have fun. If you don't like it, don't play.
Question: My pokeball is not working correctly. What do I do?Nova responds: Though it is possible to bug a pokeball, this question is asked mostly because of the lack of instructions in game on how to target properly. In order to use a pokeball you must double click a Pokemon. A red box will appear around them to indicate that you have them targeted. Once you have done this you should be able to use the pokeball so long as the Pokemon is wild. If by some small chance you do have a bugged pokeball you must talk to Sirus or Nova to have the issue fixed.
(Note: You may want to try closing out the game and opening it again to see if that fixes your issue.)
Sirus adds: We haven't had a bugged pokeball issue in years, so chances are it's NOT a bugged pokeball and is more likely you not doing something correctly. Make sure you read over this answer carefully so that you can be sure you aren't making a simple mistake somewhere.
The GMs add: When you catch a pokemon, please name the pokemon with a capital letter in front of their name (i.e. Charmander (Ash)) [Bad example: squirtle (Ash).
Another one you need to open.
http://www.prp-reborn.com/click.htmQuestion: I am unable to send out or use my new Pokemon in Battle. How can I fix this? (See also: Glitches)Nova responds: Attempt the steps posted here in the order you see them.
1. You and your Pokemon that cannot be used must log out. Then, your Pokemon must log in BEFORE you do. (Thus meaning all the Pokemon must click Continue before their trainer does.) After all the Pokemon are logged in, you can then log in as well. 9 out of 10 times, this will fix your issue if done correctly. If this
has fixed your issue, then you do not need to read on.
2. If the above did not work, ask a GM to release the Pokemon in question and catch them again. It is possible that you or the Pokemon are just bugged.
3. The worst possible case is the Pokemon (or even you!) is totally bugged beyond repair. If this is the case one or the other will need to recreate. You might need a GM to help you find out who is bugged so you know who needs to recreate.
(Note: That most of the time it is the trainer that is bugged. However Pokemon have been known to bug up from time to time.)
Question: My Pokemon left the game and when it came back it was no longer owned by me. What is going on?Nova responds: If a Pokemon signs out and signs back in without setting you as their permanent trainer they will become wild again.
Sirus adds: Pokemon have a right to choose who they belong to. It is a Pokemon's choice who they set as their permanent trainer, not yours. However, if a Pokemon logs out just to avoid being caught by you, that is rule breaking and you should report them on the GM pager, along with providing logs proving that it actually happened. Pokemon are only allowed to relog from being owned by a trainer if that trainer is breaking rules, mistreating them (eg keeping them permanently in their pokeballs), or naming them stupid or insulting names (eg "I am a moron" or anything without a capital letter at the start of the name, such as "pikachu").
Question: How do I purchase items such as pokeballs?Nova responds: The current version only has a single store located in the main town. This is the town you originally started off in. At the mart you can both buy and sell items.
(Note: The shop does not sell all the items in game. However, it
will buy anything that is sellable.)
Question: I have used up all of my money. How do I get some more?Nova responds: As a trainer, your only source of income (other than participating in events) is picking and selling berries. Berries can be sold at the pokemart in town, and picked off of the various berry trees scattered around the map. Your best bet is to get your Pokemon to help you pick berries, especially if they are asking you to buy them things like Surf or an evolution stone.
Sirus adds: The berries sell for the following amounts:
Berry - $10, can carry a max of 10
Any status cure berry - $20, can carry a max of 10
Juicy berry - $100, can carry a max of 5
Mystic berry - $200, can carry a max of 1
Question: Why won't this Pokemon speak English? Is it just a really hardcore RPer?Nova responds: Trainers by default cannot understand Pokemon speech, and instead you will see the Pokemon's name repeated over and over. This is an RP opportunity which many players pass up, but if you absolutely need to understand what they are saying, they can chat with you in OOC or over emote. (
Sirus adds: Using emote to speak with trainers should only be done as a last resort, in the case where a Pokemon needs to inform a trainer about a rule they are breaking or something important. Don't encourage your Pokemon to chat with you in emote unless it's vitally important.)
Furthermore, when a player creates a trainer, one in about eighty will be gifted with the ability to understand Pokemon speech. This is a random occurrence, and it's as rare as becoming a legendary Pokemon is for Pokemon. Do not ask us to give you this ability as we have no control over its appearance and it's annoying to be begged for icons/items/special powers/money.
Question: I am stuck inside the starting area for Trainers. What do I do?Nova responds: Clones are blocking the path in such a way that you clearly can’t leave the house. File a request for a GM’s assistance and it might also help asking for help over OOC. If you have a BYOND membership, you can also page me with the BYOND pager, which will often get my attention. There is no way out of the house except for with a GM's assistance, so you will have to be patient.
Question: I wish to trade a Pokemon I caught to another trainer. How do I do this?Nova responds: The trading system on Pokemon RP Reborn is just like the original game. You go to the second level of the Pokemon center and both Trainers talk to the NPC nurses there.
(Note: Yes some Pokemon in game need to be traded before they will evolve.)
Sirus adds: Both trainers will need to have the Pokemon they intend to trade in their pokeballs. Once you are inside the trading room, the person on the right hand side of the divider needs to stand in front of the PC there and wait. Then, the trainer on the left must stand at the PC in front of them, and the trade will commence. Just follow the prompts and be patient. As an important reminder, Pokemon will NOT be permanently owned by their new trainer. Unless they decide to make their new trainer permanent, they will be released the next time they log out.
Question: How can I release a Pokemon I caught back into the wild?Sirus responds: This works just like the original games. All you have to do is visit the Pokemon Centre, and select "Release Pokemon" on one of the PCs on the first floor. Select the Pokemon you want to release, and they will be released back into the wild. Easy.
The GMs add: When you own a Pokemon and you don't see it's name on the release-list, you (the trainer) needs to relog. The trainer always needs to login after the pokemon. When you log back in, you can use the computer and release the pokemon.
Also, do NOT release clones! This creates more clones and spams up the sanc. If you have a clone in your team, ask a GM for assistance.
Question: I noticed some players own houses. How do I get my own?Sirus responds: The houses are owned by players, and as such they will only be sold if the players who own them become inactive for a long time (i.e. a month or longer). Because selling houses takes a lot of work, and because the only ones who can sell said houses are Nova and myself, houses don't tend to become available that often. If you want a house, you will need to keep an eye out for any vacant houses, and check them every day. Usually, I'll announce if I've freed up a house as well. If you see one for sale, collect $10000 and click on the door to buy it.
Nova adds: In order to check if a house is for sale you must be standing in front of the door. Once you are standing in front of the door, you simply left click the door to check it. It will tell you in text if someone else owns the house. If nobody owns the house, you will be asked if you wish to buy it. Remember, if you go inactive for a long time then your house will be sold also.
Question: Where and how do I buy a cell phone in game?Nova responds: The only current cell phone shop is located in the main town. The main town is the area you start off in. The cell phone shop is the two-story building which you can see if you walk directly right from the starter house. It's right next to the water. A cell phone will cost you 7,500Yen in game money. However the custom phone covers and whatnot will cost you more.
(Note: You should bring more than what is posted above if you want to customize your phone.)
Sirus adds: Customization fo your cell phone can be done at the shop also. There are three customization options: buttons, the cellphone cover, and the antenna. Each can have its own color scheme, so you can mess with it however you want. The effect is purely visual though; custom colors don't change the cellphone's capabilities.
IV. Pokemon F.A.Q.Question: How do I train / fight?Sirus responds: Before you go attacking random Pokemon, be aware that there are rules against any PKing or random attacking outside of Water World (Check the General F.A.Q. section for info on how to find WW). A training dummy can be located just above the Pokemon Sanctuary (It looks like a Jigglypuff). Now, before you can attack something, you need to have it targeted. (To learn how to target something, look under the General F.A.Q. section). Once you have a target, you can simply click an attack in your battle tab to perform it. Attacks that deal damage give exp, with the exception of psywave and night shade. Other attacks will give exp only if you have a trainer.
Nova adds: All of your attacks have limited PP, so you will run out eventually. See below for info on how to regain your PP.
Question: What's this "four to a dummy" (aka "4 to a dummy") rule I keep hearing about?Nova responds: To prevent the training dummies from becoming overcrowded, we instated a limit to the number of Pokemon who may train on any one dummy at any one time. If there are already 4 Pokemon training on the dummy you want to use, you can either wait in line or travel to the other dummies, which can be found outside the caves. Also, since it's MUCH easier for trainer-owned Pokemon to train at the cave dummies than it is for wild Pokemon, please be courteous and go train at the caves if you see the north sanc dummy is full (and you aren't wild).
Question: How do I rest / regain my PP (Power Points)?Nova responds: You must walk back to the original area you started out in when you first made your Pokemon. This is the Pokemon Sanctuary, where you can rest and regain your PP and health by using the Rest verb located under commands.
(Note: You can not move while resting or it will be cancelled.)
Sirus adds: Resting will take at most 45 seconds, so if it is taking any longer than that check your HP and PP. If they are full, you may just have a bug which is preventing you from getting the resting complete message. Otherwise, keep waiting
Question: I have gained a few levels and have yet to get a new attack. What is wrong?Nova responds: You will gain a new attack when you reach the correct level for your Pokemon to learn a new attack. Though the game isn’t perfect you can find a rather close list of attacks and levels you learn them at from
http://serebii.net, among other Pokemon websites that supply information on the original games. If you use Serebii make sure you look at the R/B/Y/G/S/C Pokedex rather than the D/P Pokedex, because they show different movesets.
(Note: As I said above the game is not perfectly accurate but it is very close to the website listed above. We are in no way affiliated with
http://serebii.net, it is only a recommended website.)
Sirus adds: Some Pokemon will never learn a new useable move. These Pokemon are Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Hitmonlee and Aerodactyl, though Aerodactyl can be taught Earthquake from a TM. This will of course be fixed in the update, but in the meantime it is recommended you recreate if you end up with one of these Pokemon.
Question: I've learned a new attack, but I can't use it! What is wrong?Sirus responds: Some attacks can only be used in trainer battles, due to the nature of the attack. This includes attacks such as Sunny Day and Thrash, which continue for several turns. However, some attacks are simply not coded, and thus will not show up in a trainer battle OR in the wild. If you happen to be so unfortunate as to remove the last of your useable attacks for one that doesn't work (though people are rarely that dumb), you will need to get either Nova or myself to fix you so you can train again. Use the GM pager for this.
The GMs respond: This link will provide you a list of bugged attacks that we know of so far.
Question: Why can't I get into town?Nova responds: Wild Pokemon cannot enter towns. This makes sense, after all, wild Pokemon running through an inhabited town would cause widespread panic. However, once you have a trainer you are welcome to come and go through the town as you wish.
(Note: We have hosted a few events where the town was blocked off even to trainer owned Pokemon.)
Question: How can I find out what level my Pokemon evolves at?Sirus responds: When I was making PRPR, I used a website known as legendarypokemon.net as my source. It turns out that that website was a little off (eg it told me Seel evolved at level 43 instead of 34), and so the Pokemon are MOSTLY identical to the game in terms of evolution levels. You can check serebii.net for the correct levels, but if you don't evolve at that point then don't be too surprised. As a side note, Pokemon that evolve through trading must be traded, and Espeon and Umbreon will evolve from Eevee at level 30. (You get to choose).
Question: How do I get released from a permanent trainer?Sirus responds: If you need to be released from a permanent trainer, due to either them not being online enough or to them being abusive or something, you can ask a GM to release you via the GM pager. If you do so, make sure you include your current name (all of it, including your trainer's key), because we have to search to see if you are in game otherwise and that gets annoying. If there is a GM talking over OOC, you can also ask them politely if they will release you. Don't demand release by spamming OOC with it, and don't spam the GM pager either. If you do, we're more likely to ban you than do what you want.
Question: I am in need of an evolution stone. Where do I buy them?Nova responds: The shop that sells stones is hidden, though its location is commonly known by the players and GMs. As a hint, only Pokemon who can travel across water will be able to locate the stone shopkeeper, and only a trainer can buy and use the stones on pokemon.
Sirus adds: Trainers can only use an evolution stone on their own Pokemon. You can't have a trainer use it on you if you are wild or owned by someone else.
Question: I am in need of an everstone stone because I don't wish to evolve. Where do I get them? The GMs respond: There is no shop that sells everstones, so you will have to ask Sirus or Nova when they are online. Only Sirus or Nova can get you an everstone.
Question: How can I get shiny or legendary?Nova responds: Every time you create a new Pokemon there is a random chance that you will be lucky enough to get one of the above. Keep in mind that mass creating to get anything that there is a low chance of will get you banned. We made it random for a reason, meaning we did not wish for
everyone to have it.
(Note: You can also win it from a GM event. however we do not give them out as a prize very often.)
Sirus adds: Your chances of legendary or shiny are exactly the same, no matter what Pokemon type you choose. Random Rare does not increase your chances of getting a legendary or shiny Pokemon, but it DOES increase your chances of getting a buggy one (since all the buggy ones are in random rare).
Question: How can I surf on the water? The GMs respond: All Pokemon that are Flying/Water/Dragon type can naturally walk over water at anytime, however for other Pokemon they need to be taught Surf by the HM a Trainer can buy. Keep in mind though that HM Surf costs $15,000 at the shops so do not become someones Pokemon only to make them get Surf for you.
V. Bugs and Glitches F.A.QQuestion: I can't move! What's going on?Nova responds: This could be a number of things. A common issue is where the server is experiencing a lag spike. The cause of these is unknown, but it can cause the entire server to freeze for up to a minute. These will always sort themselves out after a while, so patience is the solution. If for some reason you can't move after a minute has passed, and other people can still move and talk fine, then it may be that your macros have been reset. You can check this by typing ".north" into your command bar. If you move, then it means you need to re-set your macros. If all else fails, close the game and reopen it. If you still can't move once you've logged in, contact a GM using the "Requests a GM's assistance" command in your commands panel.
Question: Every time I try and go into battle it says the arena is full whats going on?Sirus responds: This will occasionally happen thanks to impatient people who relog instead of waiting when something goes wrong in the trainer battle arenas. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU. WAIT 3 MINUTES BEFORE RELOGGING. Anyway, Nova or myself must reboot the game to fix it. There is no other way for it to be fixed.
Question: After using a verb I can no longer type or do anything that uses a popup box. What’s going on?Nova responds: This means the server is in need of a hard reboot because it has the infamous popup bug. If this happens while you are playing the game and you are a BYOND member, just send a pager message to Ac19189 (me) using the BYOND pager.
(Note: It is possible that the server will not be fixed for a few hours after the bug occurs, however, the server will be back up and running correctly as soon as I am able to get to it.)
Question: I was just minding my own business and suddenly my screen went black. (OR suddenly my icon vanished and I can't move.) What is going on?Nova responds: This is a known bug and tends to get us all at some point or another. Before you do anything, write down your level (if you are a Pokemon) or money (if you are a trainer). Once done go to your commands tab and click the Who verb. Then, select the stats tab. If done correctly you should have your key and level (again, if you are a Pokemon) on the text box and the stats tab showing your current stats. Take a screenshot of this and save it for later proof. You can do this using the print screen button located next to your scroll lock button. Once you have selected print screen you open up MS paint and paste the image into paint. If done correctly you should be able to save this for later proof. Save it as a png to save space. Now close out the game and open it up again and right after opening it up you want to check your current level/money and see if you lost any levels or money if you did, take another screenshot, save it, then contact a GM to have your levels or money restored.
(Note: It is best to get into contact with Sirus or me (Nova) on this matter.)
Sirus adds: It's best to relog every few hours or so to make sure that your data is saved. It's always frustrating when you get bugged up and roll back a HUGE amount because your data hadn't been saved in a long time. Make a habit of doing this and you may just prevent yourself great misfortune.
Question: After I closed the game and opened it again, I noticed that I had lost some levels. What is going on?Nova responds: This is a save bug that tends to randomly pick someone based on them being in the right place at the wrong time. When you log back in if you notice a clone of yourself contact Nova or Sirus and you will be able to have your level(s) restored. If there is no clone then we can not restore the level(s) you lost and you will need to just train them back UNLESS you have logs proving that you were at that level before the bug occurred.
(Note: As much as we would like to help you, we won't do anything about it if you have no clone. We no longer accept level restores without clones because too many people were abusing it to get free levels.)
Question: Some of the TMs don’t work. What is wrong?Sirus responds This is because of a bug in the programming of the game. Originally, all of the TMs worked fine, but then there was a small issue that I tried to fix, which instead caused the TMs to stop working entirely. (It also caused Surf to work on ALL Pokemon, instead of just the ones it was supposed to work for.) Because the source code for this version was lost due to a virus, I've been unable to restore the TMs to a working state. If you buy a TM that doesn't work, contact a GM via the GM pager (with proof that you actually bought it) and they will refund your money.
The GMs respond: Here's a list of working TMs: Rock Slide, Ice/Fire/Thunder Punch, Earthquake and Hyper Beam ( However,
DO NOT use Hyper Beam in a Trainer Battle as it can glitch the user into never being able to attack again, forcing the player into recreating.)

Question: I can't do X with one of the Pokemon in my team! Help!Sirus notes: This is the same as as problem in the trainer section with using Pokemon. It's not exactly a bug, but it's not exactly intended either...
Nova responds: Attempt the steps posted here in the order you see them.
Question: I'm a lucky person and got to be a legendary Pokemon! But, when I gained a level, all my stats went down. What happened?Sirus responds: That's because of a stats bug. When a person first becomes legendary, they get level 100 stats due to a coding error. When they gain a level, those stats revert to normal (except hp). If you want your HP bar back, just go to Water World and have someone PK you.
The GMs respond: For future reference we've made a list of bugged Pokemon you for, click this link
hereQuestion: Oh no! I picked Zapdos/Lugia/Ho-oh and now I have no icon/can't move! What happened?Sirus responds: Yet another bug, this one caused Lugia and Ho-oh to lose their icons and some of their stats, meaning they are unusable. Zapdos is usable but broken in a different way, so you should avoid picking any of these Pokemon. As an added note, if you bothered to read the F.A.Q. to the end before you did this, then you won't have this issue. You can pat yourself on the back if that's what you're doing right now. Otherwise, you'll have to recreate to be able to play.
